Dramatic Play: Where the children dress-up and act out daily situations, such as taking care of baby dolls, cooking in the play kitchen, Playhouse, working construction, playing doctor, princess...
Music & Movement - Exploring instruments, dancing with scarves, marching in a parade, playing Dance and Freeze or just listening to music while at play.
Sensory - Manipulating play dough with rollers and cutters. Working with Goop(cornstarch and water), digging in the sandbox, sensory bin, water table, bathroom sink.
Creating & Art - From as young as infancy children feel a sense of accomplishment when they realize that their actions cause something to occur. Rubbing a marker, crayon or paintbrush across a paper and seeing the colors and knowing that their action made this is quite exciting, just as child creating a craft, picture or project allows them to feel proud.
Physical Activity - Crawling through a tunnel, climbing, running, ride on toys, hula hoops kicking balls, skipping rope, nature walks, swimming, climber and swings
Change of Environment/Socialization - We attend Playgroups and Kindergym as well as take part in activities in the community such as visits to the library(story time), parks, Pumpkin Patch, play dates with other providers, I purchase a Ingeniun Membership every year and we frequent the Agriculture Museum to see the animals and explore the farm equipment, as well as visit the Museum of Science and Technology.
Circle time- Although we read stories and sing songs throughout the day, this is a opportunity where we sit together and sing songs, finger plays and do action songs and read stories.
Quiet time - It is very important for young child to partake in a nap/quiet time in order to grow and learn.
Baking - Occasionally we bake together, taking turns measuring, stirring, mixing and pouring and of course eating what we make.
Although activities and crafts are planned throughout the week, I go with how the children are feeling. It may be a beautiful day and the children may want to go to the park or for a walk instead or to do crafts all day and bring home a bag full of their creations.
I frequently take photos of the children which they may enjoy as part of seasonal crafts. Parents also receive frequent photos and important updates via texts or on What's App.
